Obituary for EDWELL

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday February 13, 2008

Cristino J. Edwell Sr. Good and faithful servant. Cristino, born April 14, 1950 in Belen, NM, gained his eternal reward on February 8, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. Cristino, the son of Fedelino and Susie Edwell, was a long time resident of Albuquerque. Cristino graduated from Belen High School in 1968. He was an avid fisherman and held the Rio Brazos area dear to his heart. As a self taught musician, he played many instruments including the guitar and drums and played with many bands. He was a singer and performer. He performed at the Belen and Los Lunas fiestas, many church functions and other festivities, since the age of 15. His dog "Dolly" brought much joy to his life during his illness. He is survived by his long time companion, Vanessa Pohl; parents, Fedelino and Susie Edwell; children, Cristino Edwell Jr. and wife, Veronica, Roberta Edwell and fiance, Andres Pacheco, Billie Edwell, Damion and Issac Pohl; brothers, Demecio Edwell and wife, Bonnie, Phillip Edwell and wife, Denise; sisters, Patty Padilla and Veronica E. Gutierrez; grandchildren, Ann Marie, Jacob, and Cristina Edwell, Estrellita Edwell, Antonio and Desiray Pacheco; a special nephew and niece that adored him, Brandon and Cassandra Gutierrez; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and friends who loved and will miss him dearly. Cristino was a very gifted man; we liked to say he was a "Jack of all Trades, Master of None." He touched the hearts and inspired the lives of many. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Belen.
