Larry D. Smith, 72, a fifteen year resident of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away on February 2, 2008 with his family by his side. Mr. Smith was born on March 27, 1935 to Fred and Effie (Graham) Smith of Logan, IA. He was a machinist in tool manufacturing and will be remembered for his memberships of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and Elks Lodge. In his free time he enjoyed camping and bird watching. Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Ginger Ann Johnsen of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Peggy Sue Day and her husband, Christian, of Bluffton, SC; and son, Matthew Smith and his wife, Renee, of Portland, OR; three grandchildren, Bryan Johnsen, Laura Chavez, and Sara Kew; four great-grandchildren, Justin, Jenna, Julieanne, and Drake.
