David Nicks, 92, passed away on February 4, 2008. He was born on October 12, 1915 in Starkville, Mississippi to Lewis and Eliza Nicks and had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1950. David retired from the United States Air Force who served in Guada Canal, World War II, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. David also retired from the United States Post Office. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Nicks and their five children; Brenda Laurzetta Nicks Phillips and husband, Rubin, David Lewis Nicks, Bertha Lucille Nicks Bridges and husband, Kerry, Ronald Keith Nicks and Ivan Christopher Nicks and wife, Jody. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. David will be missed by all. Visitations will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2008 between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in the 8th Street Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Garcia Mortuary with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor William Dorn Jr. officiating. Interment for David will be held at Vista Verde Memorial Park located in Rio Rancho following the Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Shawn Phillips, Ronald Nicks Jr., Ivan Nicks Jr., Steven Gordon, Duriel McDonnell and Robert Mosby. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Harris, Rubin Phillips and Kerry Bridges.
