Obituary for JELUSICH

Grace Marie Jelusich, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2008 in Lubbock. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2008 at Christ the King Cathedral. Monsignor Ben Kasteel will be the celebrant. Interment will take place Monday, February 4, 2008 at 10:30 a.m., (MST) in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., today, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Grace was born May 27, 1915 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Walter and Valence (Veillon) Mansfield. Grace and Albert Jelusich were married on July 2, 1933 in Pascagoula. She lived in the Bay area of California from 1934 to 1977 and in Albuquerque from 1977 to 2003. Since 2004 she has lived in Lubbock, being close to family. Grace was an avid golfer, worked as a bookkeeper, and had been President of the Credit Women's Business Club in Hayward, CA. She was an excellent gardener, having an uncanny knack for reviving sick plants, especially African violets. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Albert; her parents; and all nine of her siblings. Survivors include her daughter, Lois Bajuk, and her husband, Terry, of Lubbock; granddaughter, Karen Howard, and her husband, Mat, of Lubbock, granddaughter, Pam McManus, and her fiance, Phil Dodridge, of Albuquerque, grandson, Sean Bajuk, and his wife, Jane, of Bedford, TX; sister-in-law, Annabelle Mansfield of Metairie, LA; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 39 nieces and nephews. Memorial donations are suggested by the family to the American Lung Association of Texas, 5926 Balcones Dr., Austin, TX 79731.
