Alice M. Gater, 90, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Padilla and husband, Danny, of Albuquerque and Charlotte Shanahan of Ft. Collins, CO; her grandchildren, Tracy Meyer of Loveland, CO, Kevin Moloney of Wichita, KS, Tadd Padilla and April Rankin of Albuquerque and her three great-grandchildren, Dimee, Brenden and Tommy. Alice was a graduate of Albuquerque High School, class of 1935 and attended the Western School for Private Secretaries in Albuquerque. She retired from the Albuquerque Publishing Company as an accountant. She was a member of Monte Vista Christian, V.F.W. Post 401 Ladies Auxiliary, A.A.R.P. and the Highland Senior Center where she also volunteered. Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial contributions be made to the Macular Degeneration Foundation, PO Box 531313, Henderson, NV 89053 in her memory.
