Obituary for VIGIL

Alviria Pohl Vigil, 89, of Edgewood, NM passed away Friday, January 25, 2008 at the rectory of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Albuquerque, NM with members of her family and loved ones beside her. Alviria was born April 19, 1918 in Chilili, NM to Jose and Sara (Gutierrez) Pohl. Alviria was born and raised in Chilili, a loving mother to many more than her own children. Alviria had a deep devotion for God and the Catholic Church, she was a member of the Legion of Mary, the Altar & Rosary Society and the prayer group. She will be remembered as a loving, holy woman. Alviria was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three children. She is survived by sons, Juan Vigil; Father Joe Vigil; daughters, Cecilia Vigil; Angelina Poulin, Veda Brooks; sister, Carmen Gallegos; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. A rosary will be held Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM. A mass will be recited Monday, January 28, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM followed by a receptions, the mass and rosary to be celebrated by her son Father Joe Vigil. Interment will follow at the Vigil Family Cemetery in Edgewood, NM. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Peters, Patrick Otero, Mario Prechtel, Bennett Poulin, Ruben Vigil and Juanito Vigil.
