Obituary for BYGEL

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday January 27, 2008

HARRY W. "BUD" JR. Thank you all for your kind words and best wishes during the recent loss of our beloved mother, Jo Rene Cameron Bygel, who passed away on October 9, 2007. It is with great sadness that we inform everyone of our father's passing. Harry W. "Bud" Bygel, Jr. passed away November 11, 2007. He went into a deep state of depression after our mother passed suddenly of a heart attack. The doctors seem to think he just died of a broken heart. After a short stay at home with people taking excellent care of his needs on a daily basis. . . and a very short stay at a wonderful hospice facility in Albuquerque, he passed away quietly and went to be with the love of his life and our Lord. Bud and Jo Rene loved each other very much and were together for almost 54 years. They are survived by their three daughters: Wyndell of Albuquerque, NM, Camelou B. Cavalier of Albuquerque, NM, and Vancellen Ravensberg of Florence, CO. They are also survived by two grandchildren: Jennifer Sturgeon and Jonathan Cavalier, both of Albuquerque, NM. "Bud" was born March 12, 1930 in St. Louis, MO. He spent much of his early life in Denver, CO. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1948. Bud joined the Air Force in 1951 and was stationed in Long Beach, CA. He was also a member of the Air National Guard in New Mexico for several years. Bud joined his father, Harry Bygel, in the family business; Bygel GMC in Albuquerque, NM. He became the Gallup, NM freight terminal manager for ICX Freight Lines in 1957 and was with them until they closed their doors in 1984. Bud and Jo Rene spent their life in Gallup, NM. They had many friends through the teaching staff at Kennedy Jr., Gallup High Schools, the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge and Lions Club. Bud was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved fixing up cars, tinkering with jewelry making and painting. We know they are together in Heaven enjoying their new Heavenly bodies. No more pain, sickness, hunger, anger or politics to worry over. . . just love for each other and the Lord and all His Glory. Both Bud and Jo Rene were cremated and a private service will be held.
