VIRGINIA (CORDOVA) Long-time, former resident of Trinidad, CO was called home to be with the Lord quietly in Los Alamos, NM on January 17, 2008. She was 90 years old. Virginia will be remembered by her keen sense of humor, her loving generosity and her strong will to live for her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and their three children, Anita Thompson, Byron (Buddy) Zehna and Joan Barton; her two brothers, Hector Cordova and Barron Cordova. Virginia is survived by her grandson, Frank (Stephanie) Zehna of Athens, GA, Pamela (Steve) Register of Wrightsville Beach, NC, Kimberly (David) Souders of Santa Fe, NM, Matthew Barton of Denver, CO and Brian Barton of San Diego, CA. Survivors also include daughter-in-law, Joyce Zehna of Watkinsville, GA; her son-in-law, Pat Barton of Denver, CO; and special nieces, Gloria (Dan) Cordova-Winske of Los Alamos, NM and Teresa (Dick) Bell of Cokedale, CO. Virginia was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Laurel Souders and Sallie, Joseph and Nicholas Zehna. She will be sadly missed as the loving and devoted matriarch of the Zehna Family. A Rosary will be held at 2 p.m. at the Sombrillo Nursing Home in Los Alamos on Friday, January 25, 2008. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinidad on Monday, January 28, 2008 followed by interment at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
