Dorothy H. Jones, age 82, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008. She was born in Davenport, Iowa on April 25, 1925 to Elizabeth N. Breede and Craig L. Bragg. She graduated in 1947 from nursing school at Iowa State University and entered the Cadet Nurse Corps. She worked as a Polio nurse in Texas, on the Reservation in Ft. Defiance and later worked at the office of Dr. Nissen and Dr. Kridlebaugh, general surgeons as well as the Veterans Hospital and UNM Hospital (then BCMC). She was a former member of the local garden club, and Valencia County Extension Club for several years. She loved flowers and grew beautiful Iris. She loved to travel and took her grandchildren many places. Dorothy married Billy Z. Jones March 15, 1952. She changed careers in 1964 when she and her husband opened the Pronto Mart in Bosque Farms. She lost her eyesight in 1993 but never lost her determination. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Billy Z. Jones of Bosque Farms; daughter, Rebecca S. Keller and her husband, James, of Cliff, NM; two grandchildren, Billy Ray McCauley and his wife Davonna, also of Cliff, NM, and Deanna L. Hogue of Phoenix, AZ. She also has two great-grandchildren, Colton Lee Watkins and Aubrey Grace McCauley of Cliff, NM. She is also survived by her brother, William C. Schnare, and his wife, Blanche, of Kerrville, TX. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services are with Daniels Family Funeral Services.
