Mariano Garcia, Jr., age 80, a life long resident of Albuquerque passed away suddenly, Saturday, January 19, 2008. He was born to Mariano and Melinda Garcia. Mariano served his country in both the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps. He was a parishioner of San Ignacio Parish and served as an Usher and on the Financial Committee. Mariano enjoyed watching Baseball and Bowling; his family was most important to him and he loved spending time with them. He will be fondly remembered as a kind, giving man who was always willing to help people out. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Luis Sena Jr. Mariano is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Viola Garcia; his daughter, Ina Jean Sena and husband, Luis; two granddaughters, Krystyne Sena and Carla Scharet and husband, Jacob; one great-grandson and the twinkle in his eye, Joshua Scharet; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Mariano will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Visitations will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services-Alameda Mortuary. A rosary will be recited Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. at San Ignacio Church, 1300 Walter NE; followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Luis Sena, Jake Scharet, Robert Silva, Patrick Silva, Louie Silva, and Ivan Silva. Honorary bearers will be, Chris Cline, Vincent Cline, Joseph Hurtado, Mark Lopez, Mario Salazar, Ray Salazar, Raymond Madrid, Albert Madrid, Victor Apodaca, Francisco Apodaca, and Jesus Apodaca.
