Mildred "LaVerne" Akers, 85, longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Arthur "Art" Akers; children, Roger Allen Akers of Portland, OR and Mary B. Schiefer of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Nichelle Gilbert, Roxanne Schiefer; great-granddaughter, Isabella Rosa; and nephews, Gary, John, and Bill.
