Obituary for LUTZ

Dr. Robert M. Lutz, 78, a resident of Sandia Park and a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1958, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Kelly Lutz and wife, Chris of Albuquerque; daughter, Karen Nennecker of Coeur d' Alene, ID; grandsons, Ryan and Kyle; granddaughters, Lauren and Madison; and brother, Donald Lutz and wife, Joni. Bob was born and raised in Evansville, IN before serving his country in the Air Force as a fighter pilot in the Korean War during which he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Following his military service, Bob went to dental school and in 1960 he began his orthodontist practice in Albuquerque from which he retired in 1996. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Lomas Blvd Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Briggs, Gary Sparks, Ralph Whitesides, Lief Isaacson, Marv Blaugrund, George DuBois, Gig Brummell, Robert Scipes, and Simeon Cook. The family would like to thank Bill Willis and the staff of Buena Vista Senior Care and Hospice de la Luz for their loving care of Bob. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the Alzheimer's Association, NM Chapter, 9500 Montgomery NE, Suite 209, Albuquerque, NM 87111. Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family to whom Bob referred to as the "Wind Beneath his Wings".
