Patrick W. Murphy, 39, was born March 7, 1968, in Albuquerque, NM. He was taken away from his loving family and friends on January 9, 2008. Pat was very involved with the New Mexico Gay Rodeo Association and was crowned Miss NMGRA for 2008. He was the first African American in history to achieve this title. Pat was very proud of his accomplishments. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Marcella Murphy; his brother, Clarence Ira Murphy Jr.; and his sister, Mary Helen Fulcher. He is survived by his father, Clarence Ira Murphy Sr.; his loving partner, Shawn Arquette; his sister, Tina Couley, several brothers and sisters on the Acoma Pueblo; and by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous other family members. He will be greatly missed by the Murphy family and all of his friends. A Memorial Performance will be held Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in loving memory of "Patricia" 2008 Miss NMGRA at Sidewinders Ranch.
