Obituary for GARCIA

ALFRED "Po-te" Alfred, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Veterans Hospital. He was born July 2, 1935 at Cochiti Pueblo. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Domingo and Kathryn Q. Garcia, and his baby sister, Elizabeth Clydene Garcia. Alfred is survived by his children, Bobby Garcia of Columbus, OH, Raymond Garcia of Las Vegas, NV, Laura Lee Jacob and husband, Doug of Las Vegas, NV; grand-daughters, Melissa and Jennifer Jacob; brothers, Nick and Vernon Garcia of Cochiti Pueblo; sisters, Rachel Agoyo and husband, Herman of San Juan Pueblo, and Ernestine Hall and husband, Tracy of Albuquerque. Alfred is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and relatives from Cochiti and Santo Domingo Pueblos. Alfred served in the Marine Corps and retired from the Air Force after more than 20 years of service. Alfred enjoyed bowling and going on outdoor excursions. He was a happy person, always laughing. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, by the Queen of Angels Kateri circle members. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at Cochiti Pueblo. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cornucopia Adult Day Care Center, 2002 Bridge Blvd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.
