Obituary for MACKEY

Morris Carmen Mackey died on January 1, 2008 at age 95. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Sylvia Fanzo Mackey, in 2003; his brothers, Felix, Ray and Carl Mackey; and sisters, Norma Manzini and Nellie Petrozelli. Morris is survived by his son, Maurice and wife, Jeannie; grandson, Anton Mackey and special attentive nephew, Felix Mackey of Oakdale, PA. Morris is also survived by his older sister, Mary DeCarlo of Oakdale, PA, and numerous nephews, nieces and extended in-laws. Morris was born on July 27, 1912 in Oakdale, PA. He moved to Albuquerque with Sylvia in 1968 after retiring from the PC&Y Railroad. Morris was a WWII Veteran and served as a Scoutmaster to the Oakdale Boy Scout Troop for many years. He first came to New Mexico to attend the Philmont Training Camp for Scout Leaders. Morris will be greatly missed by his family and the many old friends and the new ones he made at the Westwind House. He will be cremated, and his inurnment will be attended by a private family gathering at the Veterans National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW.
