Mary Viola McCourt of Niles, OH, died at 1:55 p.m. Sunday at her residence. She was 86. Mrs. McCourt was born in North Hampton, OH on March 22, 1921, a daughter of Phillip John and Helen Marie Young McCourt. She was a practical Nurse in Mansfield and Shelby, Ohio area for many years. During World War II she worked at the Ravenna Arsenal. Mary had a loved for animals. She also enjoyed gardening. Her memberships include the New Mexico Irish American Society and AARP. Survivors include: her daughter, Kathleen McCourt formerly of Los Chavez, New Mexico and currently with whom Mary made her home in Niles, OH; two sisters, Helen Miller of Clarksville, GA and Colleen Rokus of Vienna, OH; a brother, Donald McCourt of Tucson, AZ; She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, Francis Pat McCourt. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Drakesburg Cemetery in Freedom Twp., OH.
