Juan Saavedra, 93, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2007 in Truth or Consequences, NM. He was born February 16, 1914 in Luis Lopez, NM to Sixto and Leanor (Gonzales) Saavedra. He is preceded in death by his brother, Teodoro Saavedra Sr.; and sisters: Andrellita Trujillo, Altagracia Garcia and Christella Gonzales. He is survived by his brothers: Eustaquio Saavedra of Luis Lopez; and Sixto Saavedra Jr. of Albuquerque, NM; sisters: Gertrude Rivera of Santa Fe, NM; Julianita Romero of Socorro, NM; and Catalina Gonzales of Las Cruces, NM; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2007 at Streadman-Hall Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, January 4, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro with celebration of the Funeral Mass immediately following. Burial will be in the Luis Lopez cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers are Antonio Garcia, Felix Saavedra, Gene Saavedra, Ted Saavedra Jr., Joe Saavedra and Sigfred Rivera.
