Shirley E. Gerhardt, 77 of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 17, 2007. She was born on September 22, 1930 in Hackensack, New Jersey to the late Charles and Louise Froelick. She married Richard "Dick" C. Gerhardt and lived the life of an Air Force officer's wife following him wherever his career took him. He preceded her in death in 2005. Also preceding Shirley in death was her oldest son, Richard J. Gerhardt. She is survived by her youngest son, Douglas Gerhardt of Albuquerque. A private funeral service was held on December 26, 2007. She was buried in Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Shirley's name to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, 1100 Fairview Ave., LY-120, Seattle, WA 98109-1024.
