Obituary for SIERRA

Joseph H. Sierra, 60, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007. He and his memories will live on forever through his loving wife of 40 years, Joy of Albuquerque; son, Jason Sierra and wife, Renee of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Paris and Mikayla; daughter, Jennifer Sanchez and husband, Nathan of Albuquerque; mother, Leonides Sierra; sister, Sister Margaret Sierra; brother, Arthur Sierra; nephews, Marcus Sierra, Arthur Jr. Sierra; nieces, Dina Hardaway, Sera Sierra and Tabitha Sierra; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and many cherished and amazing friends He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the 1st Air Calvary division in 1967 and 1968 during the Tet offensive. Joe was known as the "Gunfighter" to the painting community, a great Little League coach to many young men in our community, storyteller to his RV'ing friends, and a life long homing pigeon fancier, who stole his first pair of pigeons at the age of 13 from Earl Tonkinson. He will be remembered and cherished forever by many. He has entered into his final vision quest and passed with the dignity and machisimo he prayed for and demanded. His family would like to invite you to our family home on Saturday, December 8, 2007 for a celebration of his life and memories at 10:00 a.m. To be held outside with his homing pigeons with an open house to be held throughout the day.
