Maria "Flora" Pena passed away Friday, November 30, 2007 in Albuquerque at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel Pena; and brothers and sisters, Seferino Sanchez, Felix Sanchez, Amalia Baca, Josephine Sanchez, Nica Moffet and Eutimia Romero. Mrs. Pena is survived by her sisters, Sophie Turrietta, and Bernie Sanchez and husband, Orlando; brothers-in-law, Bennie Romero and Cole Moffet; sister-in-law, Florela Sanchez; dear cousins, Cora and Cesario Chavez; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Pena will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 3, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Seferino Sanchez Jr., Alfonso Baca, Dr. Gilbert Sanchez, Lawrence Sanchez, Louie Turrietta, and Robert Sanchez. The family would like to extend a special thank you to AmberCare Hospice and to Westwind Assisted Living for the loving care shown to Flora.
