Obituary for DIXON

Edith (McDaniel) Dixon was born in Franklin, LA February 11, 1923. God sent his angels to escort her home on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital after a long illness. She was the fourth child of the late Annie and Tucker McDaniel, Sr. Edith accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. Pete Caffery at the Evening Star Baptist Church on Oak Bluff Plantation in Louisiana. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Lilton Dixon on December 27, 1943. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. After marrying her soul mate, she moved to Tyler, TX. The family then moved to Albuquerque in 1960. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Tucker McDaniel; husband, Lilton Dixon; two daughters, Patricia and Imajean Dixon; one son, Sam Yeggins; two brothers, Tucker and Willie McDaniel; and one sister, Irene Verdun. Edith leaves to cherish her precious memories three daughters, Stella Haskins and husband, Al of Lancaster, TX, Ella Madison of Albuquerque, Laura Elmore and husband, Jay of Schertz, TX; three sons, Lilton (Ronnie) Dixon, Gary Dixon and Albert DeWayne Dixon and wife, Sandra, all of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Gray; and one brother, Joshua McDaniel, both of Franklin, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends too numerous to name. Services will be held Friday, November 30, 2007, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel.
