JUDITH C. Dr. Judith Claire Pier, Ph.D., passed on Sunday, November 18, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at age 68. Born in Fort Worth, TX, to Charles M. and Mary Eleanor Pier, Judy was an inspired educator who touched the lives of thousands. She received her Ph.D. in Speech Communication from University of Denver (1982), her M.A. from Western Michigan University (1977), and her B.A. from Texas Christian University (1961). In retirement Judy moved to Albuquerque - where she consulted for AOL - to walk and swim, gaze at the sky and mountains, and bask in the dry climate and sunshine. She was a member of numerous civil liberties and human rights organizations and served as an elections judge in recent polls. She is survived by father. Charles M. Pier and sister. Lauren Pier of Fort Worth; four daughters: Sara Winsett, Lynne Winsett, Kate Tomlinson and husband. Kelly, and Mary Escobar and husband. Luciano; and three grandchildren: Charlotte, Milo, and Sequoia. Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2007 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montano Rd. NW.
