Obituary for DURAN

Robert A. Duran was born January 10, 1925 in Tularosa, New Mexico. He passed away Monday, November 19, 2007 at his residence in Albuquerque. Robert honorably served his country in the US Army. He proudly served in the Philippine Islands during WWII. Robert will be remembered as being a trooper to the end and always making friends everywhere he went. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved baseball. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Teddy Duran. He is survived by his two daughters, Chris Parra and Al Montoya, Crystal Sanchez and Rudy Rodriguez; one son, Robert "Bobby" Duran and wife Maria; one brother, Ernest Duran and wife Elena; two sisters, Josephine Garcia and husband Joe, Mona Greenlee and husband Leon; three grandchildren, Raquel, Jeremy and Nicole; four great grandchildren, Josephine, Damian, Isabel and Max; special friend, Reyes Gurule; other family members and many friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial Services will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE, near San Pedro and Gibson, on Friday, November 23, 2007. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. A private family burial will take place the Santa Fe National Cemetery with US Army Honors. Robert, our beloved father, brother, grandfather and best friend, will be truly missed by all. He will remain in our hearts forever. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW.
