Obituary for ARMSTONG

Artie Ruth (Waters) Armstrong, died in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 6, 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Callie Burchalene "Lynn" (Armstrong) McGarvey and her husband, Gib, Ft. Collins, CO; and her two sons, Leonard Grant Armstrong and his wife, Stephanie, Albuquerque, and Roy Leslie Armstrong and his wife, Linda, Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Stan McGarvey and his wife, Carol, Ft. Collins, CO, Colleen Thompson and her husband, Mike, Chesterfield, MO, Nathan Armstrong, Albuquerque, Ashley Armstrong, Albuquerque, Brian Armstrong, Ft. Collins, CO, and Kyle Armstrong, Denver, CO; and four great-grandchildren, Chad and Austin McGarvey, Ft. Collins, CO, and Nick and Luke Thompson, Chesterfield, MO. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Burch Grogan Armstrong. Ruth is the past Worthy Grand Matron of the San Marcial Chapter # 34 Eastern Star. Her life has spanned 91 years, 2 months and 5 days. Ruth and her husband moved to Albuquerque in 1949 and raised their family. In 1951 Ruth went to work for the Federal Government and in 1978 she retired after 27 years and 5 months with the Department of Energy. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 8, 2007, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Services will be held Friday, August 9, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the same location.
