Nina G. Denham (Andreasen) died at Anna Kaseman Hospital in Albuquerque, NM on October 20, 2007, following a courageous battle against cancer. She was born in Los Angeles, CA, March 19, 1932 to Virginia Mountjoy and William Denham. She was a long time resident of Coolidge, NM. Nina graduated from Gallup High School, in May of 1950 as Salutatorian of her class. She was a retired accountant/ bookkeeper who worked in the retail industry for many years. Nina was an accomplished pianist, and loved classical music as well as other venues. She would often compose her own arrangements of popular songs and music. She also loved to sing and would often do so while playing. The piano and her music were 2 of her greatest joys in life. Nina also had a great love for animals. Nina was also a homemaker for many years and is survived by a son, Jeff Leahy of Farmington, NM; daughters, Melanie Leahy of Farmington, NM and Linda Leahy of Rio Rancho, NM; two granddaughters, Amanda Vigil and family and Kim Christopherson and family, both of Farmington, NM; a grandson, Justin Caswell and family of Aztec, NM; three great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. Nina was preceded in death by sons, Vernon and Kelly; mother, Virginia; sister, LaNita. Her ashes will be spread over the ocean in Los Angeles as she requested. Nina, her music, and her intelligence will be missed dearly.
