Obituary for HETTICH

Gregory C. Hettich, 46, of Pie Town, NM and formerly of the Loyalton, SD area, died Monday, October 22, 2007 in Albuquerque. He will be interred in the Loyalton Cemetery during a private family graveside service today. Greg was born October 15, 1961 at Ipswich, SD to Marvin and Leta (Hanks) Hettich. He was raised on the family farm near Loyalton. He attended school in Loyalton until the school closed. He then went to school in Roscoe, where he graduated in 1979. Sometime later he entered the U.S. Army. He then returned to the area and attended Northern State. He graduated with honors in 1995, attaining a degree in accounting. Greg worked as an accountant in Aberdeen for Aberdeen Equipment and also for a firm in Mobridge. Most recently he had been living and working in Pie Town, NM where he had purchased property in the mountains. Greg was an avid reader and sports fan. His ability to remember sports statistics was remarkable. He had developed a real love for animals over the years. His keen sense of humor is fondly recalled by his family as they remember his life. Greg is survived by his parents, Marvin and Leta of Roscoe; one brother, Norman (Diana) Hettich of Roscoe; four sisters, Muriel (Petrie) Thorne of Jacksonville, FL, Jocelyn (William) Barlow of Gimli, Manitoba, Canada, Winnette Crete of Avon, MN and Elaine (Nicolas) White of Minneapolis, MN; as well as 13 nieces and nephews. His grandparents preceded him in death. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gramm Funeral Home of Ipswich, SD.
