Obituary for MONCALLO

Jesus H. Moncallo, age 95, passed away September 26, 2007 at the Kasseman Presbyterian Hospice in Albuquerque. Jesus was born March 16, 1912 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Ambrosio and Magdalena Herrera Moncayo. He was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa and Puerto De Luna. Jesus worked for the railroad, building construction and as a carpenter. He enjoyed working at his ranchito taking care of his animals and his garden. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and a past member of the San Jose Society. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Paublita who died June 28, 2007; a son, Leandro Moncayo in 1974; an infant daughter, Helen Moncayo; five grandchildren, Larry Moncayo, Debbie Salazar, Cindy Salazar, Jimmy Moncallo, Mark Salazar, Gary Moncayo, Ronald Moncayo, brother; Abrelino Moncallo; sisters, Annie Wlliams and Carolina Aragon. Survivors include his three sons, Abel Moncallo of Sunnyvale, CA, Gilberto Moncayo and wife, Patricia of Albuquerque, NM, and Chio Moncayo and wife, Lucille of Santa Rosa, NM; three daughters, Anicia M. Campos of Santa Rosa, NM, Mabel Cordova and husband, Pete of Santa Rosa, NM, Elvie Lowery and husband, Mike of Novato, CA; Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Sunday, September 30, at 7:00 p.m. from St. Rose Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 1, at 10:00 a.m. also from St. Rose Church with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Leon Moncayo, Daryl Cordova, Nathan Gold, Buddy Moncayo, Phil Aragon and Mario Serrano.
