Obituary for HOWELL

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Saturday September 01, 2007

James Craig Howell November 11, 1980 - August 29, 2007 The world has lost a shining light, heaven is one star brighter. Jimmy Howell was born in Glendale California, lived three years in Tennessee and grew up in Placerville California after his family moved back West. At the age of 20 he enlisted in the United State Air Force. He felt honored to serve his country, he was a true American. Jim was stationed in Albuquerque and loved it here so much that he purchased his first home. He received his Bachelor's Degree from The College of Santa Fe in 2005 and in June 2007 he received his Master's from The University of Phoenix. Jimmy convinced his little brother to move here and share his home with him, as the two were not only brothers, but best friends. A year later his mom and step-dad followed from California to be near the boys. Jimmy was a 'people magnet'. He loved his Lord Jesus, he loved his family and friends, he served in Sunday school at his church Hoffmantown, he helped everyone he could by giving to those in need or taking people in who had no place to go. Jimmy was the epitome of unselfish love. His gifts to this world will be sorely missed. Jimmy is survived by his mother, Barbara Tankersley and his stepdad, Tom Tankersley; his father, Craig Howell and his stepmom, Therese Howell; his grandma, Irene Bailey; his brothers, Jason Howell, Troy Tankersley, Charles Greco, and Shawn Harry; sisters, Theresa Greco, Angie Harry, Megan McNamara, and Ali McNamara; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were family to Jimmy. Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper in NE, Albuquerque. All are welcome to attend this celebration of Jimmy's life.
