Cleo Block Haney, age 79, of Rio Rancho, passed away Friday, August 24, 2007. Cleo was born January 18, 1928, in Estancia, NM, to Trueman and Erma Block. She was a 1945 graduate of Albuquerque High School and was a current member of the Alumni Society. Cleo married Jim Haney November 16, 1951 in Albuquerque. Due to Jim's Naval career, they lived in many places, including Hawaii, Japan, New York, California, and New Mexico. She was an entrepreneur, owning Cleo's Doll Boutique. Cleo designed and manufactured doll clothing that now grace dolls around the world. She had a strong love of life and was very creative. Cleo is survived by her husband, Jim Haney; daughters, Dorothy Jean Martin and husband Dave, Ruth Haney and her life partner, Helen Glick and husband Ben; grandchildren, Denise, Laina, Melissa, Tina, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Caleigh, Becca, Audrey, and Lilly; brothers, T.J. Block and E.K. Quarles. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2007, 3:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
