Obituary for HOICE

Dorothy T. Hoice of Albuquerque died peacefully on August 15, 2007, at her daughter's home in Redondo Beach, California, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was 75. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2007, at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain NE, Albuquerque, NM. Dorothy was born Dorothy Norma Turner on July 10, 1932, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late James and Elvina (Mickey) Turner. She was Valedictorian of her high school graduating class. She moved to Albuquerque in the mid 1950's and worked as an accountant for FMBSM Architects for 39 years. In 1977 she married John P. Hoice, Past Grand Master of the Masons in New Mexico 1986-1987, who preceded her in death. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, an avid gardener and loved to workout at the gym. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Venita Rae (Weins) McLay and husband, Grant; three grandchildren, Kyla, Tali and Kenzi, Redondo Beach, CA; stepchildren, Evelyn Greenwood, Lexington, KY, Patricia Hoice, Albuquerque, NM, Philip Hoice and his wife, Julie, Vancouver, WA; two sisters, Velma Brady, Austin, TX and Catherine Norris and her husband, Elmer, Dallas, TX. She is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many loving friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
