Obituary for CRAWLEY

Mark E. Crawley, 55, a resident of Carlsbad and Albuquerque, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Deanna; two children, Sarah Knutsen and husband, Ben of Scottsdale, AZ and Travis Crawley and wife, Deena of Albuquerque; one step-son, Brad Schroeder of Albuquerque; one step-daughter, Cheryl Schroeder of Las Cruces, NM; mother, LouAnn Crawley of Levelland, TX; Aunt Mary Beth Richmond of Las Vegas, NV; two nephews, Austin Crawley and wife, Elaine and Nash Crawley, all of Levelland, TX; and numerous other relatives and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Crawley; brother, David Crawley; and brother-in-law, Fred Egan. He was born on March 3, 1952 in Levelland, TX and graduated from high school in Levelland and attended Plains Junior College in Levelland before later receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Geology from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Mark also received his Master's Degree in Geology and Geochemistry from Texas Tech University. He was a life-long fan of the Dallas Cowboy's, Texas Rangers, and sports in general. As a geologist, Mark was a noted "rock hound." He loved southwest cooking and growing his own green chiles. Mark also loved to camp and fish. He was very funny, smart, and loved to tell long stories about his life's adventures. Mark was a loving husband, father and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Mark's life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain, NE, Saturday, August 25, 2007, 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Bruce Wilder officiating.
