Edmund Lucio Martinez of Beaulaville, NC, died on August 13, 2007 from advanced Parkinson's Disease. Edmund was a longtime Albuquerque resident prior to relocating to North Carolina over 20 years ago. He was raised in Gallup and was the son of Jose Inez Martinez and Abedonia Mirabel Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Joy; his son, Wesley; his granddaughter, Marty (all residents of North Carolina); his brother, Jose Martinez (of Albuquerque); his sister, Tarsilla Martinez Davidson (of Conway, Arkansas); and many nephews and nieces. Edmund was a World War II veteran and honorably served in the United States Navy for over 30 years. Upon his naval retirement Edmund was an instructor at the University of New Mexico. His remains will be interned at sea.
