Obituary for RENDER

Thomas P. Render, DDS, 84, a resident of Albuquerque for 12 years, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2007. He lived most of his life in Northeastern Ohio where he practiced dentistry for over 30 years. He is survived by his two children, Jeffery Render, Dru Ann Kuntz; his half brother, Ben Render; and his five grandchildren, Thomas C. Render, Nathan Render, Alan Kuntz, Lynn Kuntz, and Sara Kuntz. Dr. Render served as a combat photographer in WWII, flying over Normandy on D-Day in the rear of a P-38. He retired as a full Commander in the Navel Reserves in 1981. He served in many organizations such as Akron Dental Society and the Kiwanis Club. He was a missionary in Haiti setting up a dental clinic and started a mobile dental clinic for the Summit County schools in Ohio. He was active in his church, Asbury United Methodist Church and volunteered at The Storehouse. Since 1988, he has been clowning at hospitals and parades. Thomas, also known as "Teddy Bear," was Shrine Clown of the Year in 2000. Services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria Rd. NE. Visitation will be Thursday, August 16, 2007, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Memorial contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church Building Fund, 10000 Candelaria Rd.
