Obituary for MCINERNEY

Rita R. McInerney, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1975, died Monday, July 30, 2007. She is survived by her children, William Francis McInerney III and Mary-Margaret Walter and husband, William R.E., all of Albuquerque; one granddaugther, Jennifer Linden Walter of Albuquerque; great-grandson, Timmothy Wesley; sister, Rose Heckt of Lackawanna, NY; her adopted family, the Andersons; special friends, June Terranova, Audrey and Joe Tuttolomondo, Julie Grange, and Mary Anne and Joe Canfield; ex-husband, William Francis McInerney, Jr.; and other relatives and friends. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Francis Linden and Minnie Mae Miller Linden. She was born on February 17, 1928 in Buffalo, NY and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph's Academy. Rita then went to the Our Lady of Victory Nursing School where she graduated September 13, 1949. She then attended the University of Buffalo where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Rita worked at Buffalo General Hospital for 25 years and then at Lovelace Hospital on Gibson for 20 years, retiring in 1995. Rita was a long time member of Risen Savior Catholic Community where she served as an usher until failing health prevented her from doing so. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a rosary will be recited in her memory at Risen Savior Catholic Community and Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna, NY at a later date. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that memorial contributions may be made in Rita's name to the Dorough Lupus Foundation, 4690 Lipscomb St. NE, Suite #5, Palm Bay, FL 32905 or the USS Arizona Memorial Visitors Center Fund, Pearl Harbor Memorial Fund, 1 Arizona Memorial Rd., Honolulu, HI 96818 in memory of Gm2c Robert Edwin Kline USN.
