Richard "Dick" Platte, 85, a resident of Albuquerque for over fifty years, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Montebello on Academy. Mr. Platte was born on May 23, 1922 to Frederick C. and Margaret (Agnew) Platte of Lake Village, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Army as a Master Sergeant. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Drake University. Mr. Platte was the Chief Financial Officer for J.W. Jones Construction Company for over 35 years. He was an avid golfer and held memberships at both Four Hills Country Club and Albuquerque Country Club. Mr. Platte is predeceased by his wife, Jeanne, in 1990, and his parents. He is survived by his son, Tom, and his wife, Karen, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ryan Platte, and Lori, Shawna and Katie Bates; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ricky and Joie Stevens. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, formerly Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE.
