Gil M. Armijo Jr., passed peacefully on July 26, 2007 surrounded by his family. Gil is survived by his wife and lifelong best friend, Genevieve; his children: Kathy Armijo Etre and Stephen Etre, Marlene Armijo, Maria Armjio Turain and Kip Turain, Gina and Seiji Kuwata; grandchildren: Andrew Delnick, Domenic and Maddy Etre, Cayla and Cristian Turain, Seiji, Matthew and Cameron Kuwata. Gil served 32 years in the New Mexico National Guard and Reseves. The last 20 years in retirement he took great joy in spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and pursuing his personal interests. Gil will be remembered as a humble man and his genuine caring for people was demonstrated through the help he quietly gave to many. He was generous with his knowledge and always available with good advice. His quick wit and sense of humor were with him to the end. He will be missed very much. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 9 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made in honor of Gil to the St. Vincent Hospital Foundation, 455 St. Michaels Drive, Santa Fe, NM 87505. (505) 820-5209.
