Obituary for COLLETTE

Joseph W. Collette, 70, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, after a lengthy illness. Joseph was born June 26, 1937 in Morrisville, VT to Frank and Flora Bell Collette. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Clifford, Richard, and Gordon. He grew up in Vermont on the family farm. In 1955 he began a 20 year career in the United States Air Force. He served in various places including Turkey, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and various bases throughout the United States. After retiring from the USAF, Joseph was an avid hunter, frontiersman, and enjoyed leatherwork, Bible study and was very active in church. He is survived by his wife, Clodagh, of the family home; his son Frank and wife Denise of Aztec, NM and their children, Leah, Babette, Nikita, and Donovan; daughter Cynthia Floyd and husband Rev. Randall Floyd of Clayton, NM and their children, Richard Barksdale, Michael, and Christopher Floyd; daughter Patricia Cupryk and husband Tim of Bernalillo, NM and their daughter Linda; stepchildren, Elizabeth and husband Bill Ferguson of Saukville, WI and their children, Anna, Ryan, and James; Allison and husband Greg Kozick of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and son Gage; Matthew and wife Dana McCarthy of Aliquippa, PA and seven great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Monday, July 30, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 PM at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas NE. Services will be Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 10:00 AM also at French Mortuary. Rev. Randall N. Floyd, pastor at Clayton Assembly of God, will be officiating. Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Acting as pallbearers will be Frank Collette, Richard Barksdale, Donovan Collette, Tim Cupryk, Darrell Aldridge, and Miguel Salgado.
