Paul L. Fore, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1979, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marilyn Fore; their two children, Paul A. Fore of Albuquerque and Cynthia Fore of San Diego, CA; his sister, Joan Allwin of Independence, MO; and other relatives and friends. Paul grew up in St. Joseph, MO, and attended St. Francis Xavier Grade School and Christian Brothers High School. He then went on to achieve a B.S. in Biology from Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, a M.S. in Wildlife Management at Iowa State University in Ames, and a Ph.D. in Biology/Fisheries at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Paul went on to have a successful career with the U.S. Department of Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). His special achievements included being an elected Fellow with the American Institute of Fisheries Research Biologists, receiving an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Silver Medal for Superior Service, FWS Special Achievement Award in 1992 for initiation of the Natural Resource Development and Assessment (NRDA) Restoration Program, and over 25 research publications on fish and wildlife, ecology, mitigation, and NRDA. In addition to his career, Paul dedicated his life to the welfare of his family. When his children were younger, he took much pride in his role as a little league baseball manager. Since retirement, while his health allowed, Paul enjoyed activities such as mountain climbing with the New Mexico Mountain Club, birding with the Audubon Society, hunting small game and migratory birds, and volunteering with the N.M. Donor Services and Organ Transplant Awareness Program (OTAP). He would be happy to know that he was accepted as a candidate for tissue donation. Cremation has taken place and a memorial rosary will be held at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Wednesday, July 11, 2007, 7:00 p.m., with Father Anthony reciting. Paul routinely attended Risen Savior Catholic Church. Mass and Interment will take place at a later date in St. Joseph, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, Paul would be honored to have memorial contributions made to Immoculata Manor-Group Home for Disabled Ladies, 2135 Manor Way, Liberty, MO 64069, in his name.
