Janine M. Jay, 81, passed away on July 7, 2007, in Albuquerque, NM . She was born in Chicago and graduated from Notre Dame High School. She married her beloved husband, Raymond Jay, in 1945. They moved their young family to Southern California in 1955, living in Azusa, then Covina. Janine was a registered nurse and especially loved her work for the Red Cross. She was a longtime member of St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Parish in Covina. After retirement, Janine loved traveling the world with Ray, bringing home tales of new friendships and adventures. Following her husband's death 10 years ago, she moved to Albuquerque where she enjoying living with her daughter and granddaughters. Janine is survived by her sons, Lawrence Jay and wife, Marilyn of Santa Rosa, CA, Charles Jay and wife, Patricia of Homer, AK; and daughters, Nancy Jay of Albuquerque, and Marianne Jay Gebramariam of Washington. She has eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister Isabelle, and brother-in-law Arthur Royce of Covina; brothers and sisters in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Should friends desire, memorial contributions can be made to American Red Cross. Memorial Mass: July 12, 2007, St. Therese Church, 300 Mildred NW, Albuquerque at 8 a.m. Graveside Services at Riverside National Cemetery are pending.
