Stephen Miles Springer, 61, a resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 2, 2007 after a long, and valiant battle with cancer. Born August 9, 1945 in Corpus Christi, TX, Steve was preceded in death by his parents, B.P. and Marie Springer. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Alice Springer; sons, Jason Springer and wife, Regina and Stephen Springer II; daughter, Mary Jane Wyckoff and husband, Kevin; four wonderful grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Preston, Jett and Austin; and one brother, Ben Springer of Odessa, TX. Steve attended Odessa High School and graduated from West Texas State University in 1970 with one of the first degrees offered in Computer Science Technology. He served 4 years in the Texas/New Mexico National Guard. His career in Albuquerque included 29 years with Amrep SW and 8 years with First Financial Credit Union as Director of Information Technology. A gentle, caring and loving family man with a wonderful sense of humor, Steve will be greatly missed by family and friends. He will be with us always through the love his family holds for him in their hearts. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Thursday, July 5, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Oasis Family Church, 4800 Lomas Blvd. NE, Friday, July 6, 2007, 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
