Obituary for SANCHEZ

IGNACIO JR. Mr. Ignacio Sanchez Jr., age 87, and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007, with his family by his side. Ignacio proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He remained proud to be a Marine, to the end. Ignacio is survived by his children, Juliette Cordova and husband, Bill, Carmen Apodaca, Lawrence Sanchez and wife, Dolores, Ernest Sanchez and wife, Pauline; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one cousin, Anita Duran; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. A very special thank you, with prayers, to the nursing staff at the Intensive Care Unit of the Veterans Hospital and to his beloved grandchildren, Jane Sanchez, Ron, Sam, and Kayla who became his caretakers. Ignacio always said, "This is my home, with my hita Jane", and let's not forget his best friend, Biscuit. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4th and Stover SW, on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with U.S. Marine Honors.
