Robert S. "Bob" Combs, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1970, died peacefully at home, Wednesday, June 20, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Julia Cocks Combs; children, Bobbi Boldon of Denver, CO, Dan Brennan-Combs and wife, Mari of Glenwood Springs, CO, Sharon Combs of Denver, Lee King and husband, Jerry of Albuquerque, Debbie Cook of Austin, TX, David Bedwell of Sequin, TX; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Norma Howard of Miles City, MT. Mr. Combs was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Combs; second wife, Polly Combs; son, Randy Combs, and daughter, Rita Barrett. Bob was a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous with over 38 years sobriety. He had owned and operated Combs Auto Parts in Cedar Crest. He served as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force, the U.S. Army Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. First Lt. Combs was awarded the Silver Star. Services will be held, Monday, June 25, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with Chaplain Joann Palmer officiating. Friends will gather after the service at Las Colinas Retirement Village, 500 Paisano N.E. Interment will take place Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 10:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
