Obituary for JOHNSON

Mildred Irene Johnson, age 77, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donaven Rae Johnson. She is survived by one brother - Robert Lemmel and wife, Joanne of Albuquerque, NM; one sister - Lois Kaiser and husband, Gunter of Markleeville, CA; her three sons - Russel Johnson and wife, Rosemary of Edgewood, NM, Raymond Johnson of Houston, TX, and Richard Johnson and wife, Wendy of Albuquerque, NM; her four grandchildren - Natalie Hunter and husband, Mark of Harker Heights, TX, Garrett Johnson and wife, Shannon of Huachuca City, AZ, Renee Johnson of College Station, TX, and Annette Johnson of Albuquerque, NM; and her three great step-granddaughters -- Ashley, Brittney, and Kelsey of Huachuca City, AZ. Mildred was born November 12, 1929, in Albuquerque and graduated from Albuquerque High School. She retired from Albuquerque Public Schools after 27 years of teaching at Montezuma Elementary School, Valle Vista Elementary School, Pajarito Elementary School and La Luz Elementary School. She was a longtime member and current President of the Kappa Kappa Iota teachers' sorority. Mildred will be greatly missed by all of us who loved her! Thanksgiving just won't be the same. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society or Make A Wish Foundation. Services will be Thursday evening, June 21, 2007 at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming NE, (505) 283-9400.
