Obituary for CALLESEN

Clarence C. Callesen, age 79, peacefully passed away on June 13, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Yankton, SD, to Hans and Alma Callesen. Clarence was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend. He started his own business called Canteen of Central, NM in 1976 and retired in 1988. Clarence's hobbies included Classic Car Club of NM, the Rotary Club and volunteered with New Mexico Donor Services. Clarence and Shirley celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last August and had a fun loving spirit and enjoyed being around people and was very compassionate about others, he just enjoyed life. His memory will never be forgotten, he will be greatly missed. Clarence is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; their children, Coni Lynn, Kirk Callesen and wife, Benedicte and Kevin Callesen and wife, Martha. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Heather, Angie, Mandy, Christian and Natalie; and several great-grandchildren. Clarence has one sister, Leona Sorensen; and several nieces and nephews. The Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 7:00 p.m., French Mortuary Wyoming Blvd, Chapel with Deacon John Russo officiating. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., John 23rd Catholic Community with Father Arkad Biczak as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his honor to New Mexico Donor Services, 2715 Broadbent Parkway NE, Ste. J, 87107.
