Ramon J. Barela, Sr., age 63, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2007. He was a dedicated member of Knights of Columbus and an exceptional coach. Ramon is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Geneva Martinez, Barela; six loving children, Ramon Jr., Beatrice Aguirre and her husband, Fito, Phillip, Carla (Wes), Francis and Joseph; seven grandchildren, Ramon III, Fito III, Derrick, Samantha, Daniel, Michael and Lauren; sister, Aurelia Garcia of Belen; and nephew, Michael. He is also survived many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, Friday, June 15, 2007 beginning with a viewing at 6:30 p.m. and a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Valencia Catholic Cemetery.
