Clara A. Schmidt, age 79, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, John W. Schmidt; two daughters, Sherrie Lacey and Judy Tuft, both of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Phillip Saxon, Homer Mellas, April and Amber Hill; one sister, Lorreta Wernsman; and other relatives and friends. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Diebott Wernsman; one son, Charles "Billy" Hill in 2000; and seven siblings. She was born on August 27, 1927 in Westphalia, KS. Clara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Thursday, June 7, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services for Clara A. Schmidt will be held at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Lemuel Boyles, officiating.
