Obituary for MOLINAR

ATILANO JESUS Resident and former business owner Atilano Jesus (A.J.) Molinar passed away at his home on Saturday, June 2, 2007 in Rio Rancho, NM. Mr. Molinar was accomplished and successful in both his personal and his business life. He was the former owner/operator of Molinar's Restaurant in Carlsbad, NM, along with the Roadrunner Bar in Loving, NM, and finally the Wiz Ski Inn in Rio Rancho, NM. A.J. retired from I.M.C. mines in Carlsbad, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Carmen Molinar; his son, Johnny and wife, Socorro; son, Daniel; daughter, Catherine and husband, Steve Knapp; and granddaughter, Carlie Knapp. A.J. is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Anita De Leon Molinar; sister, Socorro Hernandez and husband, Isacc of Carlsbad, NM; sons, Atilano Jesus (JR) of Rio Rancho, NM, Victor Molinar of Houston, TX, David Molinar and wife, Melissa of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Melissa Quesada and husband, Jose of Rio Rancho, NM; six grandchildren, Patricia (Charlie) Gilbert and husband, John, Michael Molinar, Atilano (Jay) Molinar and wife, Jennifer, all of Houston, TX, David P. Molinar Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, Kimberly Quesada of Rio Rancho, NM, Joseph Quesada of Albuquerque, NM, and Juan Knapp of Eagle Point, OR; and seven great-grandchildren. A.J. enjoyed going to the casino, reading the newspaper while enjoying his morning cup of coffee, he was an enthusiastic fan of both the Raiders and L.A. Dodgers. He had a great love and respect of his extended family from the Wiz Ski Inn. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The Visitation will be held for A.J. on Thursday, June 7, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael and Jay Molinar, Joseph Quesada, and Juan Knapp; nephews, Ben and Eddie Hernandez. Arrangements by Daniels Family Funeral Services 4310 Sara Rd.
