Obituary for GONZALES

Esequiel Gonzales Jr. (Zeke), 66, passed away while on vacation with his wife in Germany on Wednesday, May 23, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Christa; son, Raymond Gonzales and wife, Julie; daughter, Ramona Bauman and husband, Paul; two grandchildren, Desiree Gonzales and PFC Daniel Housman; sister, Maclovia Taylor and husband, Cliff; and numerous cousins and friends. SFC Gonzales was retired Army with 22 years of service and served 2 tours in Vietnam. He also retired with 11 years of Federal Civilian Services through Kirtland AFB. As a world traveler, Zeke touched many lives wherever he went. He was a life member of the DAV Chapter 33 and a member of the Shrine of St. Bernadette. Zeke was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday June 6, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary Lomas Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday June 7, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Bernadette. Serving as pallbearers will be Raymond Gonzales, PFC Daniel Housman, Paul Bauman, Luke Eaton, Jason Jensen, and Richard Baldwin. A reception will be held following the Mass at the Shrine of St. Bernadette Parish Hall. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with full Army Military Honors.
