Iona Mary Piatek (nee Vanik) passed away peacefully May 31, 2007 at the family home, holding hands with her husband Ralph and daughter Catherine. Iona married Ralph in Arlington, VA on April 12, 1956; they were married 52 beautiful years. Iona is survived by her daughter Irene and son Brian; and by Dale, Cathy's husband; and Tracy, Brian's wife. She is also survived by her granddaughters Rebecca, Rachel, Loretta, Tonya, Anna, Marina and Melanie. She is also survived by brothers Gabriel of Columbus, OH and Demko Joseph of Coatsville, PA. A requime mass will be held on Friday June 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at our Lady Queen of Angels church in Rio Rancho.
