Obituary for CHAVEZ

Rudolfo (Rudy) Chavez, 75, passed away at his home in Santa Fe, NM, May 25, 2007. He was preceded in death by his brother, Isaac Chavez and sister, Sarah Turnbull. Rudy is survived by seven children, 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, a sister Connie and husband Fred Allen, also Margie Chavez, a sister-in-law. Rudy served in the Korean War and was awarded two Bronze Stars. Rudy was a skilled musician, he studied voice and instruments in Mexico, he also was a wood worker and talented in making harps, guitars and various other instruments. Rudy was well known in Santa Fe for his playing the trumpet and the Mariachi Gavilanes. Rudy designed his Mariachi outfits. Viewing from 5:00pm-7:00 pm, Wednesday, May 30, 2007, followed by Rosary at Berardinelli Funeral Services. Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Our Lady of Guadalupe, burial at the National Cemetery followed by a reception at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall.
